Sabrina Hersi Issa founded Be Bold Media, a firm that produces multimedia and applications for social change and Washington Women Social Entrepreneurs. She’s the lead developer of TranslatedHealth (formerly named ConnectedHealth), a program that seeks to explain physical therapy motions for non-English language speaking patients.

Previously, she was the Program Adviser for Afghans for Civil Society, an NGO that developed women’s programs and independent media in southern Afghanistan. Sabrina has also worked for Oxfam America, WOSU Public Media and staffed United Nations Association conferences at both the UN Headquarters and the US Department of State.

She blogs for Alternet and in 2009 was a New Leaders Council fellow. Sabrina is a graduate of Ohio State University where she studied International Relations & Diplomacy, Political Science and Women Studies..

The Women & Politics recognized her with it’s Political Ambition Award and the Women’s Information Network recently named her a Young Woman of Achievement for Social Innovation.
